At the end of December we were invited to show the introductory Scout product line at Object, a beautiful gallery slash retail space in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle. At the center of Object and many of Seattle's noteworthy creative endeavors is Charlie Schuck, an amazing photographer, designer, philosopher and conversationalist (who knows what else). He has hosted a number of exceptional shows at Object over the years and so we jumped at the opportunity to be part of his most recent affair, This Natural World.
This Natural World was imagined as a way to showcase a handful of Northwest brands focused on outdoor related design and historical work wear: De Rien, Blk Pine Workshop, Blackbird, Sanborn Canoe Co., Northwest Axe Company, Teranishi, Brackish, Glasswing and Tarboo. We found ourselves in good company, and the opening night was a blast! I didn't hear anyone say "rationale" or "metaphor," or "raison d'être" the whole night.
Thanks to Charlie Schuck for setting up the whole thing and to everyone else who was involved. The show will be at Object until January 14, 2013 so head down and take a look for yourself.
